Creating A 3D Logo In 3DS Max 9 From Adobe Illustrator Files Part 1 in our series of video excerpts from the 3DS Max 9 Essential Training course By Chad Perkins

Covering the fundamentals of rendering, animation, and modeling, instructor Chad Perkins demonstrates how to push the limits of 3DS Max 9 for stunning effects.

He starts with the application's basics, then goes on to discuss many of the key features of 3DS Max 9, as well as important principles of animation. In this series he will teach you about creating and editing mesh, modifiers, architectural modeling, texture mapping, keyframe animation, rigging, basic kinematics, and much more.

In this installment Chad shows how to use Adobe Illustrator's powerful drawing tools as a method for the creation and use of 3DS Max objects.

You will learn how to export the Illustrator files in the proper format so 3DS Max can use them, how to import them into 3DS Max and how to turn them into 3D objects you can use as is or as the start for even more extensive modelling.
